Anti-People Governance Prevails in Andhra Pradesh

The All India Bahujan Samaj Party (AIBSP) National Coordinator and retired DGP, Dr. Jujjavarapu Poornachandra Rao, alleged that anti-people governance is rampant in Andhra Pradesh. He stated that the state has long been under the control of just two dominant castes.

Speaking at a press meet organized at Dwaraka Nagar Public Library, Dr. Rao heavily criticized the current coalition government, accusing it of abandoning electoral promises once in power. He reiterated that the AIBSP has always stood for the people and that the party prioritizes the welfare of BCs (Backward Classes).

He expressed anguish that BCs have not been given due political importance, either in the state or nationally. He called for unity among BCs to launch a movement toward political power. He stressed that the current political system does not truly operate in a free and democratic spirit.

He also slammed the state government for indiscriminately allocating government land in Visakhapatnam to private individuals. He condemned the betrayal of the promises made in the TDP manifesto regarding 34% reservations and the BC Protection Act, which have been forgotten by Chandrababu Naidu.

Dr. Rao said the current coalition is failing to take a firm stand to protect the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. He appealed to the people to question and confront their local MLAs, MPs, and ministers regarding the issue.

He stated that in the upcoming elections, the caste-dominated political system must be uprooted and Bahujan communities must be brought to power. The AIBSP aims to unite all social groups toward this mission. He described the AIBSP as a true alternative to caste-dominated politics in Andhra Pradesh.

Dr. Rao further stated that dominant castes have each formed their own political parties to divide Bahujans and manipulate power. He said parties like TDP, YSRCP, BJP, and Congress keep rotating power among the same castes while marginalizing SC, ST, BC, Muslim, and Christian minorities.

He emphasized that the AIBSP is committed to bringing Bahujans to power in Andhra Pradesh and across South India, inspired by the ideals of Mahatma Jyothi rao Phule, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Periyar E.V. Ramasamy, and Kanshi Ram.

State Coordinator Bakka Paramjyothi remarked that political power in the state remains in the hands of just two social groups and that most leaders are outsiders ruling over native populations. He called for a change, urging political inclusion for all communities and social justice for every caste.

He highlighted that despite comprising only 8% of the population, Kamma and Reddy communities dominate the leadership of both TDP and YSRCP and control governance over the remaining 92% of the population. According to government records, BCs constitute 52% of the population, yet no Chief Minister has ever emerged from the BC community. He lamented that Bahujans have been reduced to vote banks for dominant caste parties.

Party President and Former MLA L.K. Raja Rao stated that as long as Kamma and Reddy-led parties are in power, no Bahujan can become Chief Minister. He emphasized that token positions given to Bahujans are part of a larger political conspiracy to retain real power in the hands of dominant castes. He urged Bahujans to become politically aware and take charge of their own future.
