Hyderabad water-technology specialist recognised for 2 decades of work turning industrial wastewater into a recovered resource

Sharath Chandra Maroju, CEO and Founder Director of Syndic Consulting Engineers and Technologies Pvt. Ltd., has been conferred the FTCCI Excellence Award 2026 for Excellence in Science and Engineering (Individual). The award was presented at the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) Excellence Awards ceremony at JRC Convention Centre, Jubilee Hills, in the presence of Sri D. Sridhar Babu, Hon’ble Minister for IT, Industries and Commerce, Government of Telangana. The award was conferred by the FTCCI leadership, including Sri R. Ravi Kumar, President; Sri K. K. Maheshwari, Senior Vice President; and Sri Srinivas Garimella, Vice President. The Excellence Awards Committee was chaired by Sri K. Bhasker Reddy.

The ceremony honoured individuals and organisations across categories spanning industry, exports, ESG, product innovation and social enterprise. In his address, Sri D. Sridhar Babu spoke on the rising contribution of micro, small and medium enterprises to the State’s economy, reaffirmed the Government’s Make in Telangana vision, and underlined the role of technology and innovation in building a competitive and sustainable industrial base.

Over more than 2 decades of technical innovation and projects, Mr. Sharath Chandra Maroju’s work has centred on a single principle: treating industrial water and wastewater not as waste, but as a resource to be recovered. His firm has delivered effluent, sewage and water treatment plants, along with zero-liquid-discharge and reverse-osmosis systems, across industry. He published several technical articles and papers and published 3 books and also filed l a patent for an integrated process that recovers electrolyzer-grade water from pharmaceutical wastewater for green-hydrogen generation, linking water treatment directly to clean energy and the circular economy.

“This recognition belongs to everyone who has championed sustainable engineering alongside me,” said Mr. Sharath Maroju. “Industry can no longer treat water as something to be used once and discarded. The task ahead is to recover, reuse and return every drop, and to make that ordinary practice rather than the exception.”

About Syndic: Syndic Consulting Engineers and Technologies Pvt. Ltd. is a Hyderabad-based industrial water and wastewater treatment EPC consultancy specialising in ETP, STP, WTP, RO and ZLD solutions.
