Rare Chest Malformation Successfully Treated in 15-Year-Old Male at Amor super speciality hospital & Amor cancer center

Amor Hospitals, renowned for its expertise in complex medical cases, recently achieved a remarkable milestone in the realm of pediatric surgery. A 15-year-old boy, grappling with a rare chest malformation on his right side since birth, found hope and healing at Amor super speciality hospital & Amor cancer center.

The young patient presented with severe breathlessness, stemming from a malformation known as Pectus Excavatum, which compressed his right-sided chest wall, severely limiting lung function. Despite facing initial rejections from other medical facilities due to the intricate nature of his condition, he turned to Amor Hospitals for assistance.

Under the adept care of Dr. Kishore B. Reddy, Chief Ortho Oncologist and Managing Director, Amor super speciality hospital & Amor cancer center, the patient underwent a marathon surgery lasting over 9 hours. The procedure involved a meticulous approach, with the surgical team delicately maneuvering to correct the chest deformity. Dr. Reddy elaborated on the procedure, detailing the insertion of metal bars and rib plates, along with adjustments to the sternum and surrounding musculature.

Dr. Reddy expressed gratitude to the multidisciplinary team, which included Cardiothoracic and vascular surgeon Dr. K. Arun, Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Abhinandan, ICU Specialist, Dr. J. Srinivas, Emergency Specialist, Dr. Jayasekhar, Anesthetists Dr. Pratyusha,Dr. Mahesh and rehabilitation team as well as the dedicated Operation theatre,  ICU Staff and Nurses. Their collective expertise and commitment were instrumental in ensuring the success of the surgery and facilitating the patient's swift recovery.

Following the procedure, the patient underwent a thorough evaluation, demonstrating significant improvement in lung function. He can now engage in daily activities without hindrance, marking a transformative journey from breathlessness to vitality.
