Michelin, the world’s leading tyre technology company, today announced the launch of the MICHELIN Primacy5 in India, its latest premium tyre engineered for sedans and SUVs. Marking a significant milestone in Michelin’s India journey, the Primacy 5 is also the first Michelin passenger car tyre to be manufactured in the country.
Designed for today's diverse mobility needs, the MICHELIN Primacy 5 combines advanced Michelin tread pattern optimisation and next-generation rubber compounds to deliver long-lasting safety, comfort, handling, and energy efficiency for internal combustion, hybrid, and electric vehicles.

Safety and longevity: Building on Michelin’s legacy in premium passenger mobility, the MICHELIN Primacy 5 delivers enhanced safety with wet braking distances that are up to 8 metres(1) shorter when new and 9 metres(1)shorter when worn, as well as a 4-metre(2)shorter dry braking distance compared to competing tyres in the same category. Reinforcing Michelin’s commitment to safety and performance throughout the tyre lifecycle, the new tyre also delivers 8%(4) more tyremileage than its predecessor, the MICHELIN Primacy 4ST. Thanks to EverTreadandEverGrip technologies delivering best in class grip performance from first to last kilometer without compromising longevity.

EV Ready: Designed, manufactured and tested for the evolving mobility landscape for a diverse market such as India, the MICHELIN Primacy 5 is optimized for both electric (EV)and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. It effectively manages higher torque and weight characteristics of modern vehicles while delivering long-lasting durability, driving comfort, and consistent performance. Featuring Michelin’s signature low-noise performance and enhanced ride quality, the tyre elevates everyday driving comfort. It is good for ICE and great for EV.With a 6.5% improvement in energy efficiency over the MICHELIN Primacy 4ST(5), it supports lower fuel consumption for ICE vehicles and improved range for EVs.
The MICHELIN Primacy 5 was honoured with the coveted “Tyre of the Year 2025” title at the Tyre Technology International Awards for Innovation and Excellence.
Starting August 2026, MICHELIN Primacy5 will be available across all MICHELIN Tyres & Service stores and approximately 800 MICHELIN authorised dealers nationwide.
