Gujarat Titans Tackle Waste Challenge to Score Big on Sustainability During TATA IPL 2024

~ Fans join Gujarat Titans in hitting a six for sustainability, first five matches see 75,557 kgs of waste diverted

 

Gujarat Titans’ ongoing partnership with Nepra Resource Management Pvt. Ltd. (NEPRA) for waste management during IPL matches at the Narendra Modi Stadium has yielded impressive results, diverting a significant amount of waste from landfills. The expanded sustainability initiatives during the first five home games of the TATA IPL 2024 season have seen a substantial 75,557 kgs of waste being diverted from landfills through segregation and recycling efforts.

 

During the five home matches, Gujarat Titans and NEPRA successfully collected and managed a total of 75,557 kg which included 6,400 kg of wet waste and 69,157 kg of dry waste. The wet waste was sent to Bharuch Enviro Infrastructure Ltd. for composting and transforming it into valuable organic fertilizer. The dry waste was efficiently segregated at Nepra’s material recovery facility into recyclable waste such as mixed plastic, mixed paper, PET, and non-recyclable waste. This resulted in 24% of the dry waste being diverted from landfills.

 

Stadium awareness campaigns engaged fans through pre-game announcements, visual displays, interactive activities, and promotional materials. These served to inform and educate fans about the importance of sustainable practices like waste segregation and responsible waste disposal practices. to save the environment and ensure a greener future.
