Intelligent power management company Eaton, through the Eaton India Foundation, in partnership with ALERT NGO, today announced the launch of the ALERT Helpdesk in Pondicherry, a dedicated citizen support platform aimed at providing immediate guidance and assistance during emergencies through trained first responders.

The Helpdesk was inaugurated by Dr. V. Ravichandran, Director, Department of Health and Family Welfare Services, Government of Puducherry, in the presence of Praveen Kumar Tripathi, PPS, Senior Superintendent of Police – Traffic, Puducherry, R Mananathan, President for ALERT, Puducherry, Rajesh R. Trivedi, Co-Founder and Managing Trustee of ALERT and Syed Sajjadh Ali, Managing Director, Electrical Sector, India, Eaton.

The ALERT Helpdesk is designed to serve as a critical link between citizens and emergency services, ensuring timely support and response. Speaking on the occasion, Ali said, “At Eaton, we believe that empowering communities with the right resources and knowledge is essential for building a safer future. The ALERT Helpdesk is a powerful step towards strengthening citizen-driven emergency response. We are honored to support this initiative and remain committed to fostering resilient communities across India.”

Commenting on the partnership Trivedi said, “Community First Responders (CFR) can bridge the crucial time gap between an incident of emergency and the arrival of the ambulance. The ALERT Helpdesk will enable filling of CFR capacity to save precious lives. This integration into the standard operating procedure of the EMS by the Government of Puducherry shows the State’s commitment to making Puducherry a model state in saving lives. We thank Eaton for the support in establishing this helpdesk. It truly is a coming together of public and private institutions to save lives.”

This initiative aligns with ALERT’s mission to empower every individual to act confidently and decisively in emergencies, a vision strongly supported by Eaton. The event witnessed participation from healthcare professionals, volunteers, civic leaders, and corporate partners, all united by a shared commitment to enhancing emergency preparedness and response capabilities.

Through initiatives like the ALERT Helpdesk, the Eaton India Foundation continues to demonstrate its dedication to social responsibility and community wellbeing.
