BYD India, a subsidiary of BYD, the world's No. 1 New Energy Vehicle (NEV) manufacturer, today announced that the BYD SEALION 7 has crossed 5,000 customer deliveries in India since its launch in February 2025.

The SEALION 7 brings together ocean-inspired design and BYD’s battery and vehicle technologies, including Blade Battery technology and Cell-to-Body architecture. Its Premium variant pairs an 82.56 kWh battery with a claimed NEDC range of 567 km, while the dual-motor Performance variant delivers 390 kW of power and 690 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0–100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. Both variants feature a panoramic glass roof and a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen.

Commenting on the milestone,Mr. Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicle Business, BYD India, said,“The SEALION 7 has been one of our strongest-performing models in India, and we are proud of the response it has received from customers. This reflects the growing interest in electric SUVs that combine performance, technology and premium comfort. As we look ahead, our focus is on building on this momentum, strengthening the ownership experience and bringing more of BYD’s technology to Indian customers through a product portfolio that responds to their evolving needs.”

In August 2026, BYD India introduced the SEALION 7 Dynamic at an introductory ex-showroom price of INR 41.90 lakh. Its 71.8 kWh Blade Battery offers a claimed NEDC range of 520 km, bringing a new entry point to the SEALION 7 range while retaining features such as the panoramic glass roof and rotating touchscreen.

The SEALION 7 Festive Edition, launched in October 2026 at INR 50.60 lakh (ex-showroom), adds a Tan and Black interior to the Premium variant. Limited to 150 units, it also features quilted Nappa leather seats, a panoramic glass roof with an electric sunshade and a head-up display. The edition is part of BYD India’s Celebrate Your Dreams with BYD festive campaign.

The SEALION 7 has also earned recognition across the automotive industry, including a maximum 5-Star safety rating from Euro NCAP, Luxury Mid-size SUV of the Year at the ACKO Drive TOTM 2026, Premium EV of the Year at the car & bike Awards 2026, Premium SUV of the Year at the TV9 Awards, and Best EV Design at the CarBike360 Auto Excellence Awards 2026.

The company also ranks No. 91 on the 2026 Fortune Global 500 list, marking its fifth consecutive year on the prestigious index.
