In a significant step toward deepening citizen engagement and expanding grassroots networks, the leadership of the People Forum of India met with senior Delhi Minister Shri Kapil Mishra, Minister for Art, Culture and Language, to present the Forum’s new national framework and explore avenues of civic collaboration.

The delegation, led by Dr. Bhargav Mallappa, National Deputy Chairman (Administration & Organization), and Dr. S. Manimozhyaan, National Chairman, briefed the Minister on the Forum’s ongoing structural reforms. These reforms include a phased rollout of leadership appointments across national, state, district, and taluk levels and a renewed commitment to community-led governance.

During the meeting, Dr. Mallappa praised the BJP-led Delhi government, highlighting the administration’s focus on cultural rejuvenation, public accountability, and efficient service delivery. “The work done under Minister Kapil Mishra’s leadership in preserving heritage, promoting language diversity, and strengthening civic values is exemplary. The People Forum is eager to complement these efforts by mobilizing communities at the grassroots,” he said.

Shri Kapil Mishra, Minister for Art, Culture and Language of Delhi, welcomed the initiative and said, ” The People Forum of India’s commitment to civic empowerment and social responsibility reflects the spirit of our times. Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India has seen a resurgence in cultural pride and grassroots participation. I fully support the Forum’s mission and look forward to future partnerships.”

Dr. Mallappa extended a formal invitation to the Minister to visit Bengaluru and meet with the Forum’s state-level coordinators and volunteer teams working on the ground.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, Dr. S. Manimozhyaan added, “Our objective is to build a nationwide framework rooted in service, transparency, and participation. Collaborations with public leaders who value citizen involvement, like Shri Kapil Mishra, strengthen our resolve to create a people-first governance model.”

The People Forum of India operates under the National Bharat Sevak Samaj, a public service institution established in 1952 by the Government of India. With restructuring now underway, the Forum is focused on expanding its volunteer base and enhancing its digital and administrative outreach in all states and union territories.
