Airtel Payments Bank today announced its financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, delivering strong growth across key business metrics. The Bank's annualised revenue crossed ₹3,300 crore, with revenue for Q1 FY27 reaching ₹830.5 crore, compared to ₹777.4 crore in the corresponding quarter last financial year. Net profit for the quarter stood at ₹19 crore, registering a robust 82% year-on-year growth, while EBITDA increased 31% YoY to ₹107.5 crore, driven by strong operating performance, deeper customer engagement, and continued adoption of digital banking solutions.

Customer balances grew by 17% year-on-year to ₹4,389 crore. The Bank continued to witness strong customer momentum, with Savings Bank Account Monthly Transacting Users (SBA MTUs) increasing to 29.5 million, up by 23% year-on-year. The annualised Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) stood at ₹4,523 billion. During the quarter, Airtel Payments Bank further strengthened its position as one of India's leading digital banks and emerged as the second-largest mobile bank in the country by user base, driven by growing adoption.

Anubrata Biswas, MD & CEO, Airtel Payments Bank, said, “Our strong start to FY27 reflects the trust customers place in us and the growing adoption of digital banking across India. We are also encouraged by the continued response to our Safe Second Account proposition, which has become a preferred choice for everyday digital transactions. This combined with our presence across the payments value chain, thanks to our scale and differentiated offerings, positions us strongly to meet the evolving banking needs of millions of Indians. We remain focused on delivering safe, simple, and accessible banking solutions at scale.”

The Bank continues to see strong traction for its Safe Second Account, particularly in urban markets, where customers are increasingly using it for everyday digital transactions and recurring payments. This momentum has also helped the Bank maintain its position as the second-largest player in UPI AutoPay mandates.

Airtel Payments Bank’s transit business continues to scale rapidly, with over 6.5 million National Common Mobility Cards (NCMC) issued, making it the second-largest issuer in the segment. Processing two out of every three transit payments across supported networks, the Bank plays a critical role in enabling frictionless, cashless mobility at scale. Furthermore, last quarter Airtel Payments Bank in partnership with Indian Highways Management Company (IHMCL) went live with the implementation the multi-lane free flow (MLFF) tolling system at the Daulatpura toll plaza in Jaipur.

In rural India, Airtel Payments Bank’s uniquely differentiated model positions it strongly to serve underserved communities. The Bank further strengthened customer engagement through its latest Guarantee Subsidy Khata campaign – which brings the assurance that customer will be able to receive the eligible government subsidies in their bank account near to them. With over 500,000 active banking points, the Bank continues to bridge access gaps by serving three in four villages. The Bank continues to process one in four AePS transactions.

Airtel Payments Bank continues to witness strong momentum in its B2B digital payments business through partnerships with leading aggregators. The Bank’s integrated offering of current accounts, soundboxes, and payment solutions is seeing strong adoption, helping merchants accept digital payments seamlessly and benefit from efficient real-time settlements. With increasing adoption across merchant segments, Airtel Payments Bank is well placed to capture emerging opportunities in the country's next phase of digital payments growth.
